Brett McMickell serves as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer of Kubota North America, bringing extensive global leadership experience at the intersection of business strategy and technological innovation. With a proven track record across Fortune 500 corporations, small-cap public companies, and start-ups, Dr. McMickell delivers a unique blend of corporate rigor and entrepreneurial agility.
Prior to his current role, Dr. McMickell led AgJunction as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2019 until its acquisition by Kubota in 2021. He initially joined AgJunction in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Global Product Development, spearheading a strategic shift in technology and product development that fueled the company’s growth. During his tenure, he honed deep expertise in precision agriculture, agricultural manufacturers, value-added resellers, dealers, and farmers on advanced systems and market expansion.
Before AgJunction, Dr. McMickell spent over a decade at Honeywell Aerospace, holding various leadership roles, including Senior Director of Engineering for Actuation Systems. His multidisciplinary expertise spans electrical, software, and mechanical systems, supporting innovation in advanced avionics, autonomy, industrial controls, and satellite technology. In recognition of his contributions to small satellite advancements, he received the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Lawrence Sperry Award.
Dr. McMickell holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, an M.B.A. in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, where he also earned a certificate in Mechatronics. His passion for aligning business strategies with technology continues to drive impactful solutions for global markets, delivering lasting value for investors, customers, and stakeholders.
